What to expect in the Provincial Nominee Program 2024?
Canada’s Immigration Levels Plan for 2024-2026 articulates the goal of receiving 110,000 new permanent residents through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) in 2024. This strategy is rooted in the cooperative partnership between federal and provincial governments. Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) allocate a specific number of nominations to provinces each year, taking into account factors such as the existing population, infrastructure, workforce needs, and the accessibility of settlement services.
Provincial Nominee Program
The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) serves as a viable route to obtain Canadian permanent residency. Within each PNP, there exists a stream aligned with the Express Entry System, termed ‘Enhanced Nominations.’ The notable advantage of enhanced PNPs lies in the provision of an additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 600 points, ensuring the applicant’s permanent residency through the express entry route. Additionally, another stream within the PNP is referred to as the ‘base stream,’ allowing direct application to a PNP stream. Upon securing a provincial nomination, the federal government proceeds to process the permanent residence application.
